I file as late as possible (Late March usually) because I know we will owe. Then I pay with CC.

I use automatic deposit and/or automatic withdrawal.  So I payed quickly, and pay out on the last possible day  Smiley Very Happy

I did mine as early as possible even though I owed almost 7k this year. I didn't want to have that coming out of my account in between approval and closing (hopefully) on a mortgage. Plenty of reserves, but I had no interest in explaining that and potentially causing a problem. I am a big fan of simple. I realize that would be a simple explanation, but why bother for 15 bucks in interest.
