Anyone out there have standby generators affixed to their home? I started thinking about them this past winter after being without electricity and heat for nearly a week after being hit with an ice storm. I also thought back when our last hurricane hit here in the DC area (Isabel) and we were without power for about 10 days. Anyone use them or recommend them? If so which brands and which fuel source do you recommend? We don't have access to natural gas and I guess they'd have to install a tank for diesel or liquid propane.
