It's the width setting you want to adjust... start at width="70" and go from there.

You don't need to repost each time you make a change.

Just have one of your posts open in one window and the profile edit page open in another. When you save a change, reload your post.

Yep, still too new.  You should get HTML permissions on your next up-rank.
