A high end steakhouse in my town went out of business a while ago. The building has been vacant for some time now. However, it has recently been purchased and a new business will be opening in it soon...a pawnshop!
The closing of the steakhouse actually happened quite a long time before the economy dropped off, but, still, I think it is ironic that it was converted from expensive steakhouse to pawnshop.
Small chain--Prime Quarter. There are about 5 or 6 of them remaining in Wisconsin/Illinois.
ETA: Now that I look back at their website, "high end" may not be the right term, but it still made for an expensive night out.

Yeah, actually now that I look at it again, the pawnshop wouldn't even have to change the sign out front--Prime Quarter would work as a pawnshop name too, wouldn't it?

How about Subprime Quarter?
