I was clearing out some old files last night and came across the paperwork for my BK from 1993. I had forgotten several things:
* There were 2 pending lawsuits from First USA before we filed.
* Citi was one of the creditors. I guess their memory on BK's doesn't last too long because I got another card from them in 2003.
* The cost was $1,150. Does anyone care to reveal what filing cost them for comparison? Of course I realize that almost 20 years have passed and prices probably vary widely depending on where you live.

Didn't First USA get absorbed by Chase? LOL so it seems they like to chase what matters themselves but then they forget about it.
Great thread and thanks for sharing a difficult chapter of your life. I never would have guessed that Chase didn't blacklist.
LOL there may be hope for Marty to have a BofA CC. Sorry I don't forget so that is DOA.

We filed ourselves through "We the People" and it was less than 500 dollars for everything.
They gave us copies of our credit reports, sat down with a little "how to" lesson, and off I went............The biggest things were car repo and BIG TIME medical.

I paid for my papers today through PACER. I had tossed my original records since that time of my life was such a horrible period but decided I should probably have a copy just in case I need it someday.
I filed in 2008. Paid $800 to my lawyer in two installments and $399 to the courts so roughly about $1200 total. I had one pending lawsuit from Capital One. I forgot about that fact and found that pretty hilarious since they offered me a credit card a month after my discharge (also just confirmed that information today. Was under the wrong assumption that they gave me a card 2-3 months post discharge). I had 13 accounts included for a grand total of about $14,000, all unsecured debt. Looking back today, I wish I knew about other options as I probably wouldn't have filed at all (I made $24000/year back then)
All in all, it is a period in my life I'm glad is over and I'm moving on. I pray that I won't make the same mistakes again or find myself in a situation where I have to consider BK.
