Is it me or do you stress more now then you did when you got your first credit card? Stressing over making payments on time to make the CBs happy. As soon as you mess up, you stress and struggle to get yourself back on track. DEBT GIVES ME A NEVER ENDING MIGRAINE

Make a quick spreadsheet, set up meetings through outlook, use Quickbooks...Anything to lessen the stress just a little.

Although, if the electricity goes out....(oh not quite I am that paranoid so I print anything saved electronically to remind me and check, check and check).

It is all worth it!

Laugh at yourself and think about how much better you are off because you care what happens to your credit.

Ditto. DW and I were relatively off the grid for about 7 yrs and we never worried about anything. If we wanted to buy something, we always had our debit card. All utilities were auto drafted. So, it was relative bliss. Now we have to worry about juggling payments on 15+ CCs (well some have $0 balances), but we still have to keep on that.

Too bad FICO plays into the mortgage process. Couldn't buy a house with my debit card.

There is a big difference between CREDIT and DEBT -

IF I had an ever ending pile of debt to deal with- I would be stressed too!!!!! 

Just like lots of things in life- set your goals, make a plan and stick to it.

There are lot's of ways to "not mess up" Outlook reminders, payments email reminders, MS Money software,

Oh I am on my credit/debt everyday. I am down to only 5 credit cards with balances ($6000 in total). Which I think is good compared to years ago.  I do have my months planned out per pay check (yes i am one of those people that live paycheck to paycheck) but I do pay myself first. Each pay a certain amount goes into my savings accounts. the stress is when you take 5 steps forward something takes you 12 steps back. I just wanted to see what others were thinking and feeling about credit/debt.

My Sallie Mae private loan is keeping my scores from going up. Have/had some issues but in the process of correcting it. Currently they are the only Baddie on my reports. Which I wish I did not take out that loan. School would not let me graduate because I had a balance that I could not afford to pay off before graduation. Hence the Sallie Mae private loan.
