These are all a REALLY long time ago:
Stevie Wonder, Durham NC, 1973? He had an African opening band that was incredible.
Yes, Durham NC, around the same time.
John Denver, Wolf Trap (Virginia) 1974? --yes, John Denver, and I'm not embarrassed. I was one of those tree-huggers that did Outward Bound and went backpacking and got environmentally conscious, all because of "Rocky Mountain High." I still sometimes have dreams about being above treeline, up in the San Juans.
Bruce Springsteen, Born to Run tour, Fox Theatre, Atlanta, 1974?
Linda Ronstadt (Sam and Dave opened), Knoxville TN, late 70's
Doobie Brothers, probably farewell tour, Oklahoma City, 1982
Then I started having kids.
(actually
)
Still trying to get to Bonnaroo before I'm in a wheelchair.
edit to add: also saw Grateful Dead and the Beach Boys (separate concerts!), and escaped half-way through, because they were so ripped that the main entertainment was betting when the drummers would fall off their seats.
