For those with MySpace IM, skype is built-in.  You can also do the very same thing through Yahoo messenger or MSN / Windows messenger

I heard Skype has an option to use it as a phone to call others on regular phones. I think the initial fee was $60 for your own number and then $2.95 a month. We are considering it. Does anyone have this option? If so do you like it?

Resurrecting this old thread, because I just signed up for it today. My daughter is at Syracuse, and we all spoke to her on a video call tonight. My PC (with the built-in webcam--thank you) had great picture and voice quality. She was on her Mac and we lost her once as she was showing us around the studio. Other than that, it was perfect. I also have a friend in Barbados, who has been on me to get it. I will be using it a lot .

I've been using Skype for about a 1 1/2, it's the best.  Whenever I'm on travel I can speak to anyone that has a laptop or desktop...  free, clear and no disruptions.  I hope it stays way.... lol
