Applying for a Sallie Mae Loan

Hello, all! I'll be applying for a Sallie Mae loan in a couple months when I've paid down some of my other debt, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to what credit score I'll need, and which score version they use. According to the simulator, if I pay off all of my credit card debt, I'll have a FICO 8 score of 711, but I'm not sure which version they use, and what their minimum is.

Thanks!

Re: Applying for a Sallie Mae Loan

For private student loans, they are not just going to look at your credit score.  They will also consider your current income, and the length of your credit history.  Most students (with a limited income and short history) have a very hard time getting a private loan without a co-signer.  It really does seem like most private lenders would prefer to have a co-signer with an established source of income, even if the student borrower has a favorable credit score.
