Yes, many of us use more than one monitoring service just as you are describing.  No harm.

Ok, thanks so much. You have been a lot of help and I really appreciate it.

I think I will sign up for both of the free ones. It won't hurt I guess.

Since I had the block on my TU account a few years ago, I guess I need to call them to have it unblocked so that KarmaCredit can access my TU account. Grrr Smiley Tongue

You are very welcome Smiley Happy

Do you have a fraud alert on your report?  It shouldn't mess up your credit monitoring, but it does happen sometimes.  I have fraud alerts on my reports as well.

It's not a fraud alert, it was just a block so no one could pull it.  Pretty much what happened was we were trying to rent a house and the landlord wanted to pull my report (he told us he uses TU), so I had a block put on it so that he couldn't see the negative stuff on it. I pulled the report myself using one of the sites and it gave me a "nice" FAKO score and he accepted it because it wasn't recent and he couldn't pull it. (I guess landlords don't realize that you can get a FAKO score by doing it this way-the same as I didn't realize it either).

I hate that people can see a few bad things on your report and think you are a negative payer. If you looked at my report, you would see several mortgage loans ALL PIF AND NEVER LATE for a total of 15-20 years running! I sold my house in 2006 and I can prove that I've even paid my rent about a week ahead of time for every year since. That's what they should be concerned with. So, I guess I freaked out when he said he was pulling it.

Subscribing to Experian will give their Plus score which I believe is the Experian credit score.

Starting Score: 562-October 2012 (BK discharged)

Re: Does having a student loan help or hurt your credit?

I use Citi's Credit Monitoring and it gives me an Experian score that is fairly accurate. It reported 699 on 11/30 and lender pull had 705 on 12/3 so, as they say, that's close enough for government work!
