I, too, took out several loans as a single mother in college and had to request forebearance and/or deferment a time or two (or more). Please be careful how you do this. It is great when you really need it but capitalizing interest has long term consequences. My balance is now MUCH higher than what I actually borrowed. Use the option to protect your credit rating but use it wisely.
