So my son took out a student loan in October 2014. Right now his credit is 700-709 across the board but he could not get approved for a $5,000 personal/auto loan. The comments are that his debt to income ratio is to high, however, his balances are 0 % on 2 credit cards and then there is the $9,000 student loan that is set to be deferred until he graduates in 2018. Is there anything that can be done to remove this account until that time?

No. But what does his income look like? Can he beef that up? Because if he has no income, then that is more likely the obstacle to getting a personal/auto loan.
