Student Loans

Here is my situation. My student loans were in deferment due to economic hardship in 2011. Shortly after applying for the deferment with Citibank my loans were transferred to Sallie Mae. Both of these accounts were reporting late payments. ( When acct should of been in deferment from July 2011-July 2012 as a result I have 90 days late in Oct 11, 120 late in Nov,Dec,Jan,Feb,March 2012) I disputed Citi and told them the situation and they fixed my report. Sallie Mae verified the info. Should I get the Advocates for Sallie Mae involved???

Do you have paperwork showing that your student loans were in deferment during those dates?

Yes. Actually I think the situation is being handled now. I've spoken with the advocates and they are going to correct it on my CR. they are mailing me out a letter today as well!
