My son is about to start his 3rd year of college. He is a member of NFCU. He recently got a mailer from Discover with an offer to apply for their Studen Loan. Anyone familiar with Student loans thru Discover or NFCU. He doesn't need big loans as he is entitled to VA education benefits, but would like just a little more to help with housing, etc. The Discover mailer said you can include housing, etc., when applying for a Studen Loan. Anyone have experience with or know anyone with experience with either financial institute regarding Studen Loans? He is new to credit and started out with a secured CC w NFCU, but they put his security deposit back in his savings account and unsecured his CC and gave him a CLI.
