Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012! 619 tans 630

Hello everyone, I ran into this forum by pure luck and do not regret it one bit. At 24 years old, I was looking towards ways to improving my credit, and this awesome community has definitely giving me insight on how to do so. First off my scores are TU: 619 (FICO) EQ: 630 (FICO) EX: 533 (FAKO). I currently have 3 collections on my credit which I look to hopefully PFD and I currently was approved for a BofA Secured $400 (start I've been waiting for). My goal for the upcoming year is simply to get anywhere close to the 700 mark, across the board. And of course manage my secured card well enough to the point where I can get it unsecure. That said, I'm ready for the challenge, sign me up :smileyhappy: !

CURRENT SCORES: EX Fico (Amex) 730, TU Fico 745, EQ Fico 717

CURRENT CARDS: Amex Green NPSL, Amex BCE 2K, Chase Sapphire 5K, Citi Thankyou Preferred 3.5K, Discover It 1.7K, Walmart Discover 1.6K, Capital One Platinum 1.5K

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012!

Hello!!

Well like most of us, I failed to take my credit score seriously in the past.  I hope to get back on track soon and apply for a home loan this year.  I have a credit history of about 10 years with six negs attached to that.  My scores are TU FICO: 602; EQ FICO: 596.  I'm excited to improve my financial health and raise my quality of life.  I just don't know where to start...I guess this is good place to start. My problem is that I don't really have any option to activley improve my scores.  Should I open a CC card?  Should I send out PFD's?  Or should I just allow things to fall off, in attempt to avoid a "restart" in time (7.5 years).  With a little more searching and reading, I'm sure I'll find a way.

This forum has given me some hope and for that, I'm thankful.  Gluck to you all!!!

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012!

I am really looking forward to trying the FiCO challenge. My family and I lost everything in 2008. I have been supporting everyone trying to get a

bK done. The lawyer has yet to file but all the papers are signed and I want to see if I can recover. Yesterday I wanted to see if I could get a car. If I financed any of it they would have charged me 23%. I really need to get working on this as I will be 55 this year. Thanks

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum and I would really like to improve my credit. I'm married and we would like to buy a house in the near future. I've made some mistakes in the past and I do have some current debt but nothing crazy. I really have tried hard the past 2 1/2 years to improve my score. I've applied for credit cards and made all current payments. I do not have any negative information reported in the past three years. Here are my problems-I need some negative information erased. I have some 30 days that I would like erased but I don't even really know where to begin. I have an open current Kohls card with 3 30 day lates all from 2008 and 1 from 2006. I am in good standing with Kohls right now...would they delete those due to good payment history? I'm not sure-I don't even know where to begin. I think my score would greatly improve if I could get rid of that. Also, I have some other 30 day lates on a car payment that I had-I ended up paying the loan off but I would still like those erased if at all possible. Can anyone help me get started?

Lastly, I am not sure if this is something I can dispute or not-I am showing 1 collection in my report. I paid it in full b/c I didn't want it to negatively affect my credit. Here is what happened. I have my wireless phone service with Sprint. Approx 5 years ago I started to get an employee discount so they changed my account # and basically gave me a brand new account-I didn't even realize it b/c I just pay it over the phone every month. I opted for their paperless billing so I don't even get a bill. Anyway, apparently I had a balance of $118 on that account when they changed account #s. I never got any collections letters, no one ever told me about it. I had no idea until I got a phone call from a collections agency. I paid it immediately but I think I should be able to dispute it. I don't have a problem with the fact that I owe the bill-but I was never notified that I even had a bill--any thoughts on what to do?

I appreciate all the help!!

Hi,

It seems like you have been very responsible for the past few years regarding your credit!!! Kohl's (and maybe Sprint) should be able to do a goodwill adjustment for you.  Before disputing, I would try to call the collections/credit department regarding the Sprint account and since it was only $118 and paid in full, maybe they can do a manual delete.  Keep in mind that if you dispute it first and it doesn't come off, it will only update the information-negatively affecting your report.  Either way, because the negative history is so old i.e. 5 years, I don't even think that it is significantly impacting your score. Good luck-I'm no expert, but I have had a couple of goodwill adjustments and negative credit history removed due to multiple disputes.

hi-thanks so much for responding. Let me ask you this..should I just call the customer service departments? or do I need to write letters? Can you tell me where I even begin to find the information to send the letters to?
