hi-thanks so much for responding. Let me ask you this..should I just call the customer service departments? or do I need to write letters? Can you tell me where I even begin to find the information to send the letters to?

Hi,

You should call customer service for the Kohl account first.  Ask for the department that deals with reporting to the credit bureaus.  More than likely, they will tell you over the phone that they don't do goodwill adjustments.  Get the mailing address as proceed to send a written request.  They may even deny such an adjustment, even after you submit a written request, but it doesn't hurt to try.  As for the Sprint account, contact the collection agency that reported it to the credit bureau and ask if they can do a manual delete due to the age and balance of account.  Good luck and hope this helps!

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012!

In 2010 my wife and I consulted with a Ch7 attorney and paid $1500 to process it. After countless run-arounds with the attorney, to include losing all of our paperwork, we decided to tackle this mess on our own.  We got a $299 refund and lost the rest....here we are.  Putting the past in the past!

We have been paying off small items over the last 4 or 5 months... the ones under $250.  Hoping to take care of most of our debt in a 2 year timeframe.  About $50k total between both of us.

Goal #1: within 6 months - refinance a high auto loan that we got to help build credit for goal #2

Goal #2: By 2013 - get Approved for a Mortgage Loan

Goal #3: raise FICO to 700 across the board

Hello! I am new to the forum! My husband and I are looking to buy our first home approximately a year from now, and want to try getting the best rate we can! We just paid off the one of the two credit cards we have and the other has a minor balace. We just recently bought two new vehicles and the interest rate wan't fantastic, but it was a lot better than what we had when we first financed our old vehicles. Hopefully my husband and I can achieve our goal in getting our scores where we want them by this time next year!

Welcome to the forums!

I fixed your siggy. I'm sorry there isn't enough space for your husband's scores, too.

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012!

I am a newbie to the forums.  I just found out about myFICO a month or so ago.  Previously I had been using mycreditreport.

Its not so much that I have bad credit, but I have little credit.  I stopped using credit cards after I found out how much debt my ex got us into in 1999.   About the only credit I have is mortgages and car loans.

I have never had a problem getting a car loan from my bank, usually just a 15 minute phone call.  My mortgage was a little hairy to get, but mostly because I am self employed.  I have enjoyed not having any credit card or other debt.

I applied and was approved for two credit cards in Dec and Jan, which raised my score a little.  Hopefully it won't take long to get it back up there.

I look forward to seeing everyone succeed !!!

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012!

I would like to raise my scores to a 700 in 2012. I was able to reach 620 to purchase a home but not satisfied with that low score. I have so much negative stuff on my files since 08 and 09 due to divorce now I m trying to get this mess clean up.

Current Score: myfico EQ 618 TU 693
