Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012!

Hello,

I am new to the challenge. I have been working on increasing my credit score for the past two years. It has been slowly getting better. My goal is to have a 730 credit score. This almost seems impossible to me but I will give it a go..

My current score is 671 (Transunion)  601 (Equifax)  Can anyone tell me why there is such a major difference in the scores?

Starting Score: 671
Current Score: 671
Goal Score: 715

Lollipop33,

It could be any number of reasons why the scores differ so much. For example: my TU is 739 while my EQ is only 673 (1/2012). I have a 3 year old Tax Lien (paid) on my EQ but it was not reported on my TU or EX.

I would suggest getting a copy of both your credit reports and comparing the two. Looking for, then disputing any inaccuracies (if any) as well.

Hope this helps! And welcome to the ChallengeSmiley Wink

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012!

Hello!  I'm new to the forums and want to join the FICO Fitness Challenge also Smiley Happy  I've been lurking for a few weeks now, and how I wish I had found these forums when we initially financed with the help of FHA lending!  I was incredibly forturnate to have a wonderful broker.

We are considering refinancing at lower rates, selling and moving, or adding onto our home at this time, so it's time to get serious about my financial health.  I look forward to being held resposible and to everyone's suggestions and help!

Re: Take the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012!

I'm all in!!!

For the last few years my FICO score has been 791-810 until recently.  I have lost my job and now carry a balance on 2 of my credit cards.  As of Jan 2012 and my score has dropped 60 points over the last few weeks.  I am trying to finish my dissertation and complete my PhD.  program by July 2012.

My 2012 financial goals:

Complete Doctorate program = end $405 monthly payment

Get Job = pay off credit cards

Continue to contribute to Roth IRA and savings account.

Savings Account  = 8 months emergency

Roth = Max contribution

Action Plan:

Apply for jobs

Work on dissertation everyday

Spending = Needs only, no wants

The Challenge is a personal challenge to improve your FICO score(s). It's something that members are posting in the Challenge thread. It's purely voluntary and helps foster accountability when you confess your goals to others. Some have opted to post the Challenge siggy to display their score changes.
