And the hilarious thing is I nearly married someone whose initials were DW.

That could cause confusion in my life Smiley Very Happy

Timothy, you state that FICO starts adding points for util under 30%.  I dont understand how FICO can ADD points.  Utilization is 30%, or 255 points max.  It would appear that any level of util will subract some points from the max level, and that score cannot go above 255 for this category (revolv_install).  So how do  you ever "add" points?  Perhaps what is meant is that you will begin to add points to those already lost for 30%?  but that is the same at any %util.... confused....

IMO- 30% is the baseline for GOOD scores-
Add points under 30%, subtract points over 30%

Your thoery is the same- you just have to move the ruler over-

Gottcha Timothy!  That makes sense.  Whatt you are saying is that you begin to add points above the normal, baseline points lost, which is apparently around 30%.  Thanks for your clarification of meaning!

Re: 50% the new 90%, last paragraph has info on fico '08

Here's my theory on this, I'm not sure how Timothy draws his conclusion.

In FICO scoring the max points that can be had for utilization (both revolving and installment) excluding mortgage trade lines is 150. I don't think it's 255 because the lowest score possible is 350. There are no 0 scores and everyone is at least a 350 or better. So here it is:

850 - 350 = 500 x .30 = 150 total points to be had
150 x .90 = 135 for revolving util, 15 for installment util

1-9%     util 135 points earned
10-19%      125
20-29.........115
30-39.........105
40-49...........95
50-59...........80
60-69...........65
70-79...........50
80-89...........35
90-94...........20
95 and up......0
