7 year dropoff?

does an account actually drop off your report after 7 years? what if the account is sold to another collection company after 5 years? does that restart the clock?

CO and Collection accounts drop at 7 - 7.5 years from the DOFD of the original accounts.    Nothing can reset the clock for the Credit Reporting Time Period ( CRTP ).
