Mind telling us a short history of your journey?

Thank you so much, LOTR!  Smiley Happy

Well, my journey started about 30 years ago with a Visa card from a local CU.  I ended up closing it a few years later when I moved, as it was inconvenient to go to that particular credit union.  I got in with AMEX a couple years later, and my Amex cards are now my oldest accounts (28 years).  My AAoA is 12 years.  I have 1 INQ each on EX and TU, and 2 INQs on EQ.  My newest account just reached a year old on February 1st, and that's when I hit 850 across all three bureaus.  I have a total of 35 accounts reporting on EQ/EX, and 28 reporting on TU.  Some closed accounts have fallen off TU, but they remain on the other two.  I have a 23-year old mortgage reporting, and I have a car loan reporting with a balance less than $5,000 on an original loan amount of around $36,000.  I also have a paid in full car loan reporting.

At any given time, I have between 3 and 4 credit cards reporting a balance, but I do pay them in full to avoid the interest.  I used to be quite anal about making sure only one card reports a balance, but now I let 3 or 4 report.

I had a 30-day late reporting from Feb 2010 on EQ/EX, but it finally fell off this past November.  It fell off TU a lot earlier - I believe it was sometime in 2015.

If there is any other information you'd like to know, please feel free to ask.  I'll try to respond quicker this time.  Smiley Happy

Would love to hear the current stats of your file if you don't mind sharing, always interesting to get new datapoints on 850's.

Hi there, Rev!!  So nice to see you!  And thank you so much.  You're starting to enter gold-plated territory yourself - keep up the amazing work!  Smiley Happy

I don't mind sharing at all - here goes:

Oldest account age is 28 years.  Average age of accounts is 12 years.  35 accounts are reporting on EQ/EX, and 28 reporting on TU.  Currently have 3 credit card accounts reporting a balance (less than 10% each, overall is 1%).  Have a 23-year old mortgage reporting, as well as a 4 1/2 year old car loan reporting with a balance less than $5,000 on an original loan amount of around $36,000.  Also have a paid in full car loan reporting.  I have 1 INQ each on EX/TU, and 2 INQs on EQ.  My newest credit card account reached 1-year old on February 1st, and that's when my EQ score watch alerted me that my EQ reached 850.  I pulled the other 2 reports and they both had 850 as well.  Prior to that, my EQ was sitting at 841, my EX was at 842 and my TU was at 838.  My TU has reached 850 in the past, as it was 850 in February 2016 (prior to the new credit account reporting).

I had a 30-day late reporting since Feb 2010, but it finally fell off EQ/EX this past November.  It fell off TU sooner - either in late 2015 or maybe early 2016 (I'd have to research to see when it actually happened).

Feel free to ask any questions, I will try to respond quicker this time.  Smiley Happy

Re: 850 x 3

Outstanding job. And reading your journey shows that anyone can do it and you don't have to have been perfect your whole life. But the biggest factor seems to be time.

Most excellent!  I assume your revolving utilization is prettied up?

A question though, what were your scores before the 30 day late fell off?
