ANOTHER MONTH WITH NO SCORE CHANGE.

Equifax simply will not give me the 2 pts. I need to make 700 club.  Affecting my score are-- very good--very good--  great and good.  Yet my score is good.  Not --  when you're looking for credit.  698 is considered problem credit.  This is so frustrating as it's been a year.

Yet TU has very good--very good-- not good and good and 727 score.

Re: ANOTHER MONTH WITH NO SCORE CHANGE.

That's just nuts.

What baddies are left on your reports? Sounds like you're banging the top of your head on your particular ceiling.

My EQ has me at good- very good - very good - not good, but I've staggered back up to 709.

edit to add: they also have me at "good" overall.

Re: ANOTHER MONTH WITH NO SCORE CHANGE.

Have you possibly overlooked anything?

On your revolving accounts the accounts looks at the utilization percentage on both the overall and individual revolving accounts. So if you have three credit cards leave a 2% balance on each one. So with three cards that gives you a total overall percentage of six. If you have two credit card accounts then leave a 3% balance on each one.

The next thing to look at is do you have any other types of credit that are currently open such as a perosnal loan, auto loan, or mortgage loan?

How long have you  had your accounts opened for? Do you have any public records or late payments?

So this is something to look at?

What does the fico score simulator say? Check it out and let us know?

No, the math doesn't work that way. You can't add up percentages.

To figure total util, add up all your posted balances, divide by the total of all your credit limits.

Re: ANOTHER MONTH WITH NO SCORE CHANGE.

Yet another poster with EQ lower than the other 2....I conclude that EQ takes away more points for baddies than do the other 2.  My EQ is 25 points less than the other 2, who are within 7 of each other.

EQ's turn-offs (courtesy of Playmate of the Month lists):

  • lates
  • new accounts

    *sigh again*

Re: ANOTHER MONTH WITH NO SCORE CHANGE.

If it makes you feel any better, EQ views my credit report through crap-colored glasses too. It's always my lowest score. My theory is that their formula is slower to respond to change than those of the other CRAs. However, I don't have enough data to say anything conclusive.

No doubt from the little I have learned in the past year and one half that EQ punishes baddies more severely than either TU or EX.

Re: ANOTHER MONTH WITH NO SCORE CHANGE.

My BK is 8.9 months old.  My newest account just turned 9 months.  So it's been longer than that since I got an increase.  I have been clean over 7 years.
I called them and the rep didn't understand it either.  There is nothing you can do.  I don't think you can dispute or anything.  You just have to take it.  Pee Pees me off.
My utilizaton is 2% sometimes 4.

I checked and the problem credit stops at 705.  I just make sure I don't have any inquiries  with them.

Re: ANOTHER MONTH WITH NO SCORE CHANGE.

I felt this way with EQ. It was stuck in the high 640's, for almost 6 months. (it actually crept to 652!) Then I got 2 bogus collections deleted, they where reporting in the TL section as open accounts for a total of $10,400 ish. With those changes it went up to 683 which is on par with my other 2 scores. EQ is the blacksheep IMO.
