AU have similar effect as Amex backdating?

I've never been an AU for anyone and only have my personal CCs.

I was wondering, does adding someone as an AU to say, my 3 yr old credit card immediately give that person a 3 yr credit history?

Similar to how opening a second Amex acct 3 yrs after your first one can get you backdates and extra 3 yrs of credit history?

Not anymore. Their credit history will be based on the day you add them.  If it's an AmEX and they already have an AmEX or have previous AmEx history, it'll go back to the date of their AmEX history.  Otherwise, it's the date they're added.
