I currently am AU on a handful of cards that are helping my util. Because of one of those cards, my overall util is 10%. I'm not apping immediately, but when I do, I want to be at 1% for maximum score benefit. Would removing myself as AU on that card help, and if so, can I add it back later? Are there any downsides to adding, then removing, then adding again?
Does the card you speak of have high utilization? If so, how high?
Yes, you can be removed then readded at a later date.

The one I'm speaking of has 43% util. It's a Chase Slate and I'm thinking about PC to Freedom in January and pulling 5k from her Chase Disney CL, which would help her util. We're trying to do the best for both of us. Disney CL is 8k and is only used for Disney trips, which are minimal.
If it can't be paid down before you apply then I would have myself removed.
Thanks!
