Adding an AU to your cc

I know that if you have awful credit scores and you are added as an AU to someone who has good credit can help your scores. But is the opposite true as well?

If I add someone who has horrible credit to one of my cc's, will MY scores go down?

No.  The AU inherits the history only of the account to which they are added.  The cardholder is not affected by the AU's other credit.

Otherwise, there would be no market for those scummy piggy-backing companies.
