Are Credit Inquiries Real Time?

When you apply for credit....... Is the credit report the merchant sees the most recent/real time or 3 mths old? i.e  current balances, current  cc limits, etc

Re: Are Credit Inquiries Real Time?

Fused, I think he was more concerned with if his balances/CLs reflect his status at this exact moment. Not exactly.

Your balances and credit limits will reflect whatever data the creditor sent the CRBs last. If you have recently received a line increase, or have paid down debt and your new balances haven't reported, then no they will not be reflected yet on your reports. Those things are not instant.

Your inquiry won't show up on the report you pulled, but it will immediately show up on any future pulls.
