Hi,
Does adding an authorized user to your credit account affect their fico score?
I would like to use my "excellent" credit to bring up my wifes "good" credit. Would adding her to my lines of credit boost her score?
Thanks

Yes it will help her score. If I were choosing the card I would pick a card that a had long payment history history.

My answer to adding your son as an AU is it depends. If you son is minor I would strong suggest you do not add him. Why? Google children and idenitity theft. Secondly there is no need most the time. If your son already has credit adding him may or may not help him.

Thanks..... I added her to my card that I have had for 12 years. She has made it through life without any cards or loans..... Sounds great, but terrible for ones credit.
