I think with my situation that I may just end up getting an auto loan through a dealership and put up with the high interest for the first year, and then refinance with someone else later at a lower rate. I think it will take another year of careful attention to my credit situation before I'm really going to be in a situation where things will get better for me.

Usually, but I suppose the CU would have an option to pull an auto score.
I think I already know the answer to this but the auto credit score is only used by the car dealerships? If I get a loan through a credit union before going to buy a car, they use the FICO score, not the auto score correct?
