Barclay TU fico vs MyFico TU

I was so disappointed when I found out last night that the Barclay TU Fico is a different version than the MyFico TU.  Barclay's version shows a 713 and I paid for the TU fico from this site last night and of course it was 670.. I will never check the Barclay TU again.  So upsetting.  I thought for the first time is many, many years, I was in the low 700's.  Don't I wish.  Oh well, it could be worse.

Re: Barclay TU fico vs MyFico TU

The Barclays version is TU 08, and the version here is TU 98.

I'd trust the former over the latter, because it's more up to date.

If you want to be in the 700s, you really need to define your terms -- there are lots of FICO score variants out there, and if some of the more recent ones put you above 700, then I'd declare victory!

Another way of saying it is that there's not a single "right" FICO score.

As User5387 stated, the model here is a TU98 version, and is pretty well obsolete.  The TU08 would IMO be a more widely used score.

Starting Score: 504
July 2013 score:
EQ FICO 819, TU08 778, EX "806 lender pull 07/26/2013
Goal Score: All Scores 760+, Newest goal 800+
Take the myFICO Fitness Challenge

Current scores after adding $81K in CLs and 2 new cars since July 2013
EQ:809 TU 777 EX 790 Now it's just garden time!

June 2017 update: All scores over 820, just pure gardening now.

Re: Barclay TU fico vs MyFico TU

If you apply different formulas to the same report data, you would expect mismatches of this sort -- sometimes one formula will produce a higher result than the other, sometimes lower.

The scoring formulas have evolved over time, in part due to changes in consumer behavior and changing credit laws, and it seems wisest to favor the more recent formulas over the old ones.

My scnario was the complete oposite. MyFico TU (TU98) came in @ 702!

I was super stoked that I finally broke 700! Unfortunately one week later I get both Discover & Barclay reporting 668??? what the ... you know what!

I will only use the EX & EQ myFico's scores on this site and wait until they update to TU08!

Discover (TU 668) and Barclay (TU 671) report about 21 days apart on my statements and the scores are very consistent albeit significantly lower using TU08.

I called MyFico to express my displeasure and disbelief that they were selling me an outdated and unreliable score (based on model TU98), she didn't have much to say?

FICO 8 / EQ 824 / EX 815 / TU 816

Discover $36,000, Capital One $32,500, Chase Bonvoy $30,000, Barclays Arrival+ $34,200, Fidelity Rewards $25,000, AMEX Delta $25,000, AMEX Bonvoy $25,000, AMEX Platinum $$$

After a bit more thought, I would totally agree with both User5387 & Shogun.

IMHO the (Barclay TU 713) is a much more representative score today and you should be very excited!!!

I wish mine was there.

I believe the newer TU08 is punishing me a little more for my BK than the older TU98?

Also, the 3 creditors that pulled TU reports on my accounts, Barclay, Discover and my local CU, all used TU08!

FICO 8 / EQ 824 / EX 815 / TU 816

Discover $36,000, Capital One $32,500, Chase Bonvoy $30,000, Barclays Arrival+ $34,200, Fidelity Rewards $25,000, AMEX Delta $25,000, AMEX Bonvoy $25,000, AMEX Platinum $$$
