Bogus account removed but score has not improved, why?

Last August we were 30-60 days away from being preapproved on a mortgage. We just needed 20 more points and we would have been there and were working with a credit specialist at the bank who gave us a few things to do that should have gotten us those points.  Unfortunately, while we were working on that, an account was reported on my report by a collection agency that was not mine.  It lowered my score by 90 points!  I disputed it, basically threw everything I had at it, and it was deleted from every credit report.  However, I did not get my points back!  What happened?  This collection is gone but my score has only started to climb very very slowly.  This pisses me off.  We just had our 3rd child a month ago and have really outgrown this house.  We should have been in our own (we rent now) bigger house by now but that collection agency screwed us by reporting something that they had no business reporting!  Help!  Is there any way to get my points back?

Where did you get your scores from each time? (makes a big difference)

Here, on my myFico account. When I look at the score history it took a huge dive and has only slowly started coming back up.

If you are looking at the score history, I'll take a stab and say that you are using ScoreWatch? This is for EQ only. Is it possible that your mid-score would be higher than your EQ FICO thereby qualifying you?

Once a baddie disappears, any score damage from that TL will immediately return especially since you are comparing scores within a very short period of time. If the points aren't coming back as expected, then I'd look for other changes to your CR that could have influenced any score change. For example, maybe util was lower at the time it was added vs. removed. That can cut into any points returned. Maybe something else was added or removed during that period influencing your score.
