Can adding an authorized user on a CC negativly effect my FICO score?

Obviously if the new authorized user is irresponsible and gets the account into trouble....

But what I am asking is if just the act of adding them can temporarily negativly effect my FICO score.   Kind of like how applying for a new CC, slightly negativly effects it.

I am thinking the answer is no, but I just want to confirm.

Sure, it could if it lowers your AAoA, for instance, or if it has a balance reporting that is high enough to raise your own util, or if it ever had lates, and so forth.

It's an account like any other.

edit to add: oh, wait, are you the cardholder, and you're talking about adding an AU? If so, no, unless balances rise or there is irresponsible behavior like you described.

Just watch your accounts like a hawk. Smiley Happy
