I have been working faithfully to rebuild my credit so that I can buy a house next summer. I have had great progress being though my scores were in the 400's. I wanted to know what type of score increase I can expect by having 3 medical collections deleted (insurance is paying) and 1 comcast collection deleted that was just pfd. Any help would be great. Thanks
Points gained is ALWAYS a YMMV thing, and it is impossible to accurately predict, though I'm game for a guess.
Are these the last of your baddies? If not, what do you have left and how recent are they?
What's your current CC util? AAoA?
I agree it is hard to estimate the amount of the score change. The more recent the derogatory information is the greater the impact on your score. Depending on what else is on your credit report and how recent these accounts were that have deleted will impact the score change. The important point is you have made progress. in cleaning up credit.
I had 4 medical collections deleted in the last 2 months. 3 did nothing for my score because they were kind of in the middle of all my messes.
I lucked out and got the most recent one deleted, and I got 15 points for that.
Good Luck!
I was in a VERY VERY VERY similar situation as you! Around the same score and had 3 medical collections removed. My score went up about 30 points when the collections were removed. My score got the biggest bump from buying and paying off a car, and opening a few credit cards. Its taken me 8 months to get from the the high 4's to the low to mid 600's (depening on whos reporting the wrong info which month )
