What is the usual initial FICO score if one international student arrives at the USA for the first time? how is it deterrmined? thank you.
FICO doesn't care or consider if you are new to the country. I bet there are millions that live in the USA and don't even have a FICO score. FICO scores based on what is on your credit report. There are minimum scoring requirements in order for a score to be generated. One of those requirements is that you have to have an active, open account reporting for 6 months. There's no way to predict what that score would be once it hits 6 months old. Assuming nothing else reports except that one, I'd guess a starting score in the mid-600s.
Will he or she see a score, no matter how low it may be, before the credit histroy hits 6 months? Thanks.
No.
You will only get a score once you have a undisputed TL (credit card, loans, mortgage, etc) that has been reported for six months.
Thanks, Trumpet. Does histroy of being authorized user count?

For FICO scores, yes. And of course the history carries over once it reports, so you can have an instant score.
