Do lenders use the average score??

Hi,

I pulled up my credit score and there is a huge difference from one to the others.  TU = 749, EQ = 618, EX = 666.

Now when I go to apply for a loan, do lenders use the average of the three scores?  Or do they use one versus the others.  Just trying to understand.  I'm still working on fixing my credit and getting the baddies taken care of but it seems the Equifax is tough and it takes them forever.  Just an observation.

How do they use the scores????

For CC and car loans, a lot of the time just one CR will be pulled. For large secured loans like mortgages, they often will pull all three and use the middle score.

The bad news for you is that few creditors pull TU alone.....the good news is that EX is the most pulled so at least it isn't your worst score that is most likely to be looked at. You can search the forum to find lenders that normally pull TU (there are a few) or EX.
