This month I let everything report $0 and my FICO 8 is down almost 20 points (vs $2 on one card and $0 on everything else). Other than that odity having your account show a negative balance (which will report as $0) won't be an issue.

It can be hilarious prepaying for say 89 cents in gas at the POS.

I don't think I'd prepay; I think I'd take my chances at releasing the trigger at the right moment.  If you go over by a penny, go home and make a penny payment to your account.  How's that for micromanaging Smiley Happy

That's why I was concerned. I've read people are keeping a balances like $10 for their report. So, it seemed that having a negative balance might be really bad. I just knew I had pending transactions that added up.
