EQ score drops again...

I have 5 small student loans... and 4 of them alerted me this morning of an account update and a score drop.  This happened once previously in April and a dispute resulted in the accounts being restored to their previous state.

Each account updated the Date of Last Activity from 04/01/09 (the date of my filing of BR13) to 09/01/2014.  They also added some "consumer disputes after resolution" to the comments which I don't understand because I haven't disputed anything since they did this in April.

The accounts still read a correct opening date of 2001.  I'm confused because I've made payments on all 4 accounts since discharge last year... don't understand why they are updating my accounts with this and why it's dropping my score.  The date of last activity is not the same as AAoA right?

What am I missing?

Re: EQ score drops again...

Nobody has a clue as to why my score would drop from something like this?

Is it in dispute status?  What does "consumer disputes after resolution" mean?

Re: EQ score drops again...

Your DoLA jumped by 5 years. So a negative account that is 5 years old Now looks new.

The problem is though, the last time they did this update, they did it on my negative IIB accounts and it was updated to current and dropped my score.  I disputed and got the update reversed.

This time the update is on my new TLs that were created when I resumed the student loan payments after BK 13 discharge last year.   I don't see how it can possibly be dropping my score.  The opening date of 2001 is correct and the payment history is 100% current over the last 15 months.

There is nothing on the account to indicate it is  negative... they just updated the DoLA from 2009 to 2014.

On a side note, they no longer show the original Sallie Mae tradelines listed under the  negative tab on my CR.  Those accounts are gone.  All I see are my current loans indicating Paid As Agreed with this updated DoLA.

Very confusing and annoying.  EQ and Sallie Mae make me want to vomit.

Re: EQ score drops again...

Now that I think about it.... Maybe this change is correct. Could they have been wrong with a DoLA of 2009 on these new TLs and changed it to 2014 they making them appear new?

They all show 2001 opening dates though so this can't be a AAoA problem.

I could understand DoLA affecting my score if they updated a negative account but these are new positive TLs with 14 months of history listed right underneath my car loan.

Very confusing.

Re: EQ score drops again...

Are you saying that you had 5 tradelines that were iib and 5 new trade lines after you resumed payment? If all of those trade lines were listed as a start date of 2001 and half of them disappeared it would severely affect your AAoA.

Yes that is correct.. .I had 5 tradelines listed as IIB.  (My payments were on hold the length of my Ch 13)  Once discharged I had new TL's opened (with the same opening date of 2001) and my payments report on those new TL's.

That being said, I just pulled my 3 bureau report from 8/23/14 and compared it with a fresh EQ report dated today when I went to dispute.

My installment accounts listed are the same with the exception of 2 home furniture accounts from 2007 that have fallen off.  That being said, I guess I can expect my AAoA to drop a little with those 2 accounts gone... but the original 5 TL's IIB and the new 5 TL's are still there.

This whole DoLA thing is a mess.  The 5 IIB accounts should be 4/01/2009... the date I filed BR13 and they were frozen.  The 5 new accounts were showing that same date and have  now been updated to show 9/2014 which has me thinking it was an error originally and now it's correct... but why would a DoLA drop my score?  The opening dates are still 2001 so AFAIK my AAoA is unchanged... other than the 2 accounts from 2007 I mentioned earlier.

Check AAoA for sure.

Re: EQ score drops again...

Thanks for the responses.

I disputed the changes although part of me thinks the DoLA was wrong to begin with and now it's correct.  I could see how 2 furniture accounts from 2007 falling off would drop my AAoA and possibly my score... but the monitoring said it was the DoLA on 4 of 5 student loan accounts that dropped the score which I don't understand.

At any rate, will post back with the results.

i don't think it looks new . because if it did. he would have lost a lot more than 6 points. that you can be sure of.

it does happen with equifax. even your balance decreased. it will drop score sometimes.

A mystery within it self.

as i have tested over and over. equifax prefers 0 balances. so . no way to know why the drop. but im sure it is not from the date change.
