hey all,
If you guys remember from way back when I started with the forums, my credit report was clean except for two student loans that were 60 days late from 2008, when I was in military training. They were opened in 2000. I was never able to get it removed, goodwilled Dep of Ed and no go. I've been trying for the past three years. Well, Equifax finally deleted them, and I expected my score to go up since my report had no more negative accounts. Well, it went down 17 points. Should it have been that much? All of my other credit cards are in good standing, 8% util spread over my $134.9k credit lines, I'm dumbfounded.....
I know my student loans report as 7 accounts and they're really bolstering my AAofA. So I'm guessing having fewer accounts and a shortened AAofA might have caused the drop. Of course, it looks like you have a good number of revolving accounts without those, so who knows?
Yea, beats me. I had 15 student loans, now it is 13. And to top it off, these loans were closed/transferred from the Dept of Ed to Mohela late last year. So they were closed with a $0 balance, at least 11 years of good history. I'm lost.....
