Is it impossible for someone under the age of say...30 to have a FICO score of 800+? I am 23 but I have an excellent credit history and FICO scores. My problem is that I would like to be in the 800 club but I don't see that happening due to my "short" credit history of 5 years.
Hi frog,
Glad you're here on the forums and posting. Looking at your previous posts, it appears that you were already able to come up with a FICO of 760 on your FICO report simulator. So, I'm sure you could reach even higher with a few additional years.
Keep working on that PFD or HIPPA for your collection; keep your utilization down, only let one revolving account report a balance (and keep that below 9%), and avoid app sprees that decimate your AAofA. Once you're over 760, you're in the same high category and have the same low interest rates as anyone with a score higher than you (760 to 850 is a nice big score range).
Sounds like you're working on all the right things. I'm sure you'll be where you want to be in short order. And congrats on hanging out here and working your FICO - I wish there had been myFICO forums when I was 23 years old!!!
good stuff

No it is not impossible. I've have been above 800 on my Eqifax for a few years now and I've just turn 30. Just keep working hard and fix any mistakes.

Just continue to do all the things that got you there in the first place.
Boring but effective.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

When you get to 780, you'll know that you've been doing the right thing.
Hi, flojo, I've split off your post and its replies to form a new thread, also on Understanding FICO Scoring, titled "High Reported Utilization, But We PIF". You should get more replies with it being on its own thread. Welcome to the forums!

No new applications would help a lot.
