FICO Score calculations and Algorithms

Hi All,

I am wondering if the way FICO calculates scores based on the average nationwide FICO scores and if there other factors in calculating scores that go beyond the individual profile.

American Express: Platinum Charge, Optima, Business Gold, Delta Business Reserve, Business Cash, Business Plus
Barclays: Arrival+ WEMC
Capital One: Savor WEMC, Venture X Visa Infinite
Chase: Freedom U Visa Signature, CSR Visa Infinite
Citibank: AAdvantage Platinum WEMC
Elan/US Bank: Fidelity Visa Signature
Credit Union: Cash Back Visa Signature
FICO 08: Score decrease between 26-41 points after auto payoff (11.01.21) FICO as of 5.23, EX: 812 / EQ: 825 / TU: 815

Re: FICO Score calculations and Algorithms

The FICO scoring model is derived from longitudinal studies of large numbers of actual anonymized reports, if I recall correctly.

Thanks for the reply!

So depending on the outcome of these various studies, calculations can change right?

Re: FICO Score calculations and Algorithms

The scoring model is based on real behavior, rather than simply being pulled out of thin air.

The idea is to quantify certain behaviors (like high utilization) in terms of how well they predict future delinquency.  Try doing a Google search using the words "fico delinquency rates".

Here's an article that discusses some of these points:
