FICO Scoring Methods

Anybody read of these mathematicians that had ostensibly reverse engineered various credit scoring agencies' methods and systems, by what was being divulged through various sorts of reports?

Re: FICO Scoring Methods

If you're in the mood to understand FICO scoring,

I recommend the Education tab up top -

Credit Basics: Demystifying credit scoring and credit reports

is a good place to start.  Along with a bunch of other topics there, including

How to Repair Your Credit and Improve Your FICO Credit Score

And

Credit score facts & fallacies

Also check out this post which includes the FICO Reason Codes.  These are the codes used in conjunction with your FICO Score - they're public information and whoa! helpful.

No.

Obviously, many have tried to reverse-engineer the FICO scoring model, but I am unaware of any such successes.

Re: FICO Scoring Methods

Why should they?  They could make more money seliing their own version as a FAKO score and with some good TV commericals to suck people in.

For the very same reason that, once a patent expires, others make and sell generic drugs.  A competitive version of the same product.
