This should read never leave a zero balance on ALL of your CC's.  A zero balance on all of your cards and a <1% balance on one is "better" than both a zero balance on ALL cards OR a <1% balance on ALL cards from what I understand.

 

The poster that dropped one of his CC balances to 0 still had 2 cards each reporting a small 1-4% balance.  Dropping the 1 card to a 0 balance was a good move, and if he does that to one of his other 2 cards in theory he'd be maximizing the points he'd get from FICO for utilization.
