FICO: how soon does a paymentl show up-in order to reduce your outstanding balances?

I heard that CC companies typically report balances only once per month. Is this true ? How about AMEX?

Yep, once per month.

Amex also reports once per month, but they report a month behind.

And most CCCs report the balance on your statement at about the same time that they cut the statement.
