Good morning, I will never understand the scoring mysteries with the credit bureau's. I applied for a mortgage yesterday, and today I received an alert telling me of a new inquiry and that my equifax score went up 8 points....Scratching my head
often there is something that changed your score but didn't trigger the update. Then the triggering even happens which would make your score go the other way, but everything else in between outweighed that. When the last bad thing on my eq came off, it did not trigger an update, I had a new account report which made my score go up 35 pts. I'm guessing the baddy wasmore like plus 40 and the new account minus 5. Somewhere in the T&C it shows what actually triggers an update for each bureau.
That's a good scenario pfaffo1
Well put. Same thing happened to my husbands. His experian did not update for almost 3 months and they we got a new car. His score soared up 80 points which confused us, but the new auto loan is what triggered the acct to update, so all of these other items were there, just needed something to trigger it.
