Re: Fico score

You can achieve a high score with that if you manage them correctly but I would reccomend opening more to help you with your utilization % if your current cards have low limits and you find yourself charging more than 15-20% of your total limits

Amex Blue Cash Everyday: $25,000 | Navy FCU Cash Rewards: $25,000 | Discover It: $20,500
Chase Freedom: $12,500 | Citi Double Cash: $10,000 | Bank of America Cash Rewards: $8,000

Re: Fico score

I keep my utilization around 9-15% if I go higher a month I always make sure I drop to around 5-9% the filling month to get the scores back up.

Starting Score: 581 (4/20/14)
Current Score: 696 (6/21/14)
Goal Score: 720

perfect, I would reccomend opening new TLs in the future because creditors like to see a mix of them but the way your handling your credit you should be up there in no time

Re: Fico score

I plan on getting a car between November-January. I don't plan on any more CC until I'm able to get higher limit cards, I was thinking January to try for a chase freedom since that would be a year to date that my credit journey started.

Current Score: 696 (6/21/14)

Re: Fico score

sounds good, your score is high enough to get you approved. if you do get another unsecured credit card, look into trying to get your secured turned into a unsecured. if you can't I would cancel it to avoid paying the annual fee once you get the freedom. good luck

Re: Fico score

Thanks for all the replies. I believe with the 7 month history I have now I would be able to get another unsecured card. But I was just letting some more time build.

I plan to try to PC both the cap 1 cards around October since that will make six months of having an unsecured & ten months of having an secured card.

Current Score: 696 (6/21/14)
Goal Score: 720

I think you have a good plan and a solid grasp on how to advance your scores, just stay on top of it.
