I'll be getting my first Fico Score in half a month. I'm so anxious to see what I achieved in those long, long, long months of waiting!
What was first Fico Scores when you started from scratch with a thin file?
Capital One Secured $600 CL 5 month history - DCU Platinum Visa $1500 CL almost 1 month history
Wow...that's a good question. I honestly can't remember back that far. It was eons ago but it would be nice to know.
Come to think about it, even if I did know, the scoring models have changed so much from almost 20 plus years ago that it wouldn't be an even comparison.
When I first pulled my reports at the 6 month mark my score was as followed: EQ: 736 TU: 746. That was because I had no negatives, no inquires, nothing but one card with 6 months of history. Just be patient and your scores will thank you for it.

Shouldn't you have had at least 1 inquiry from the one card you applied for though? I have no negatives, but 6 inqs on TU and under 5 inqs for EQ/EX. Maybe scores might be a little lower than yours because of the inquiries.
I'm gonna wait another 6 month to build history with my DCU Visa first, then ask for a CLI. I'll be at my 1 year mark by that time and I'll probably be approved for prime cards with high limits.

i started my credit journey a little over 2 years ago. (first card was 10/10)
i didnt look at my scores but with a year and a half of credit no negs it was around 665. but i had 3 inqs on each report.
after i paid down my util (at the time it was 80% to 8%) my score jumped to about 730 and then i let the inq pile on. and dropped my aaoa now sitting at 690's
now i went from 3 accounts too 10 so yeah. but i went from 3100 in credit to 20k so that also played a factor.
as long as you always pay(no lates etc) and dont spend what you cant pay
only apply for what you need not what you want
you will be golden.

I've always PIF and I keep my utilization at 5-9%. First 3 months I kepted it at 20%, but then I read 1-9% is better to help with your Fico Scores.

if your not applying for credit or cli utilization really doesnt matter. obviously you dont want to be at 80% for years but your score doesnt remember your balances from 6 months ago. its really the 2 months before i app i pay it down to 1-9 percent
besides who wants to pay all that interest.
