GW to chase, late removed (acct wiped completely off) Fico up 59!!!

GW letter to chase for late payment in '07, they couldn't find acct, asked if I wanted deleted... someone here told me that was going to drop my score.

Got SW today (finally) I'm up 59 pts!! I'm back in the 700's !!!!!!!

Congrats.  Chase did the same for me.  They annoyed me when I had the account open, but they were very easy to work with in getting the negative account removed (after I paid it off in full).

I did not use that address...

I will look when I get home this eve.  I used the address as it was reported on my CR.  Then when I talked to them once they gave me a specific address to write the second time.

I think I have them all saved on my computer at home.

You are fortunate.  I tried a GW letter to BOA last year, and they flatly told me that it would be illegal for them to remove any prior reporting of a late.  We all know that is BS, but is a great way for them to simply avoid the issue.
