Help me understand why my lender's credit pull is 40 points lower than what I see

When I log in to view my credit report and scores at Trans Union, Experian and Equifax I have the follow scores for each: 665, 688, 680. I received an inquiry alert from Equifax saying the lender pulled credit there for our mortgage. He reported back it is at 620. I''m confused why there is a 40 point difference. Can someone explain? Thanks!

Re: Help me understand why my lender's credit pull is 40 points lower than what I see

There are many different score types. For mortgages they are using the last generation fico score. You get that score here with a new pull, not sure about what you get if you pull on the CRA websites, may not even be a fico score, let alone the mortgage variety. For example when my scores were pulled by my lender, my 08 ficos were 754 ex 748 eq and 725 TU but mortgage scores were 701, 700, 698.

They probably use a different model. Ask your lender what score model they pulled.
