Home Refinance

Will refinancing my current home drop my FICO score? I'm being told that it can drop from 50 to 100 points.

Doesn't sound right. It isn't uncommon to lose points with a new TL reporting, like a mortgage. I've had hits of 20-25 pts and most of the loss was temporary for the first 4-6 months. And it is possible to lose a small few if the old TL closes. But 50 is too much. Maybe 30 at most with a rebound after a short time.

Re: Home Refinance

I refinanced in May.  When it finally started reporting (took a few months) I lost about 5 points...
