It is possible you gained a significant number of points for mix. Usually people experience small gains in scoring when gaining a new account (up to about 4 or 5). So its not that a 90% balance didn't hurt you a lot, it is likely these factors helped you negate most of decent score drop.

Debt, on the contrary, I have been losing points due to new accounts showing up. I am still saying that overall uti, at least in my bucket, counts more heavily than does individual uti.
