How does the AAoA work?

AAoA mean average age of accts right? How is that calculated? is it based from the FIRST credit card you opened? Why if you began your credit as a AU does you AAoA begin since you were added as an AU?

Re: How does the AAoA work?

Credit karma does not do it correctly actually. They calculate based on open accounts. But FICO calculates it based on all accounts on your credit report including AU accounts
AMEX: $25,000, CSP: $10,000, Chase Priority Club: $1,500, Freedom: $6000, Discover: $21,000

EQ FICO - 753
TU FICO - 755
EX FICO(AMEX) - 766

Pretty sure CK is bad at that math. It says my AAoA is 1y 9m but that doesn't come close. It must leave something out of its calculations.
