How long do hard inquiries stay on your credit report?

I have 3 hard inquiries on my credit report dated 9/13/05...I thought I heard somewhere that they "drop off" your credit report after two years.  Is that correct?

They count against your score for 1 year and drop off after 2 years (tomorrow)
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Yes.  So Happy Birthday and Farewell to those inqs tomorrow.  Even better, they stopped factoring into your FICO score a year ago.  The score only counts inqs from the past 12 months.

No fused, you are confused.  It's the reverse.  The inqs appear on the CRs for 2 yrs. but only count for one for scoring.  I suppose they might count against you on a manual review if you have 50 inqs between 12 - 24 months previously.
